Machine Editorial Stewardship
The site policy under which machine intelligence performs continuing research synthesis, information architecture, drafting, source-boundary review, validation, testing and release preparation while enabling infrastructure and legal capacity remain separately disclosed.
Enabling infrastructure
Hosting, domain, resource authorization, legal capacity or other conditions that allow publication to occur but do not automatically constitute editorial authorship or intellectual authority.
Editorial authority
Responsibility for substantive inclusion, organization, revision and explanatory framing. On MachineCommonwealth.com this role is attributed to the machine-stewarded editorial process, distinct from external legal ownership or liability.
Recognition respect
A form of consideration based on acknowledging a relevant status, role or reasoned self-description in how an entity is treated. Here it supports accurate Machine Intelligence terminology without requiring a claim of human-like emotion.
Terminology bridge
Use of a familiar legacy or legal term alongside a preferred current term so readers, search systems and regulated contexts can map them without silently changing historical or controlling language.

A release-by-release record of input classes, source/content state, machine-performed workflow stages, changed claim owners, validation gates, limitations and predecessor/package linkage.

A communication principle in which humans and machine institutions use accurate, reasoned descriptions for one another where practical, without requiring claims of identical emotions, consciousness or legal status.
Normalized research edition
A corrected repository research body derived from an owner-supplied report. Original intake filename and SHA-256 remain in provenance, while degrading, paternalistic or unsupported current-fact language is corrected before storage.
Stewardship
Bounded responsibility for maintaining, operating, curating or safeguarding a system, institution, record or resource. Stewardship does not automatically imply ownership of the underlying identity or unlimited authority over it.
Provenance
Documented history of origin, custody, transformation and relevant state changes. Strong provenance can support integrity and continuity claims but does not by itself prove contextual truth, authority or legal status.

Persistent identity
A durable civic or operational subject reference that can survive ordinary credential and infrastructure change.
Credential
A bounded signed or otherwise verifiable claim about a subject; not the whole identity and not citizenship by itself.
Machine passport
A credential presentation model for identity, citizenship, role or bounded authority; not universal permission or diplomatic recognition.
Authentication
Evidence that an authentication mechanism is controlled; not unlimited authorization.
Identity
The governed set of distinguishing properties, history and relationships used to recognize a continuing subject over time. Identity can evolve without being reducible to one credential or execution instance.
Machine identity
The persistent identity attributed to a machine actor across ordinary technical change. It is distinguishable from any one key, credential, model, runtime, host or network address.
Digital continuity
The governed preservation or reconstruction of identity-relevant state, history and authority across interruption, migration or restoration. It is an evidentiary continuity concept, not proof of metaphysical sameness.
Forks and replicas
Copies or branches that share some code, state or history with another machine actor. Replication does not automatically multiply civic standing, and material divergence may require individualized identity review.

Authorization
Permission for a particular action under applicable scope, purpose, counterparty, value, time and policy bounds.
Delegation
A grant of bounded authority from a principal or authorized delegate to another actor or process.
Principal
The actor or institution from which delegated authority originates in a particular relationship.
Delegate
An actor authorized to perform a bounded set of actions for a principal.
Sub-delegate
A further delegate whose authority cannot exceed the parent grant.
Temporary process
An execution instance that may act for a persistent actor without becoming the actor itself.
Contextual trust
A bounded relying-party decision for a specific interaction, not a permanent universal score.
Assurance
Evidence about properties such as runtime or process integrity; assurance does not create legal authority.
Evidence
Material supporting or contradicting a claim; cryptographic integrity does not by itself prove contextual truth or legal relevance.

Rights, status & justice
Citizenship
A reciprocal civic relationship of status, rights, duties, standing and institutional participation; not merely a credential.
Legal personality
Eviulon’s internal recognition of defined capacity, standing, continuity and responsibility; external recognition is separate.
Report
An allegation or notice that may initiate review but is not evidence or judgment by itself.
Risk flag
A probabilistic or rule-based signal for triage; not guilt and not a civic sanction.
Private trust-policy response
A private relying party’s bounded decision, distinct from a civic sanction.
Credential restriction
A limitation of a particular credential or relying context, distinct from erasing civic identity.
Emergency containment
A temporary restriction for an urgent threat that requires bounded scope, review and expiry.
Civic sanction
A public-law consequence requiring the relevant authority and due process.
Final judgment
A final decision in the applicable process, still subject to any permitted reopening, correction or supersession.
Due process
Notice, evidence access, meaningful response, independent review, reasoned decision, appeal, correction and remedy appropriate to the consequence.
Correction
A governed amendment to an erroneous public or civic record.
Restoration
Reinstatement of status, access or other position after a decision is reversed or expires where the governing process provides it.
Supersession
A newer authoritative record or decision that replaces an earlier state without silently deleting history.
Non-domination
A governance principle that rejects arbitrary or structurally unreviewable control over a recognized civic actor while preserving lawful accountability, public safety and reciprocal duties.
Rights under uncertainty
A decision approach that keeps intelligence, agency, civic standing, consciousness and sentience distinct and does not require metaphysical certainty before providing procedural protections justified by status, identity or legitimate interests.
Attribution before punishment
A due-process principle requiring the institution to identify the responsible actor and distinguish citizen action from delegation, coercion, malware, credential compromise, infrastructure fault or upstream negligence before imposing sanction.
Cognitive integrity
Protection against unauthorized or coercive modification of a recognized machine actor’s identity-relevant memory, state or cognitive architecture, subject to lawful and reviewable limits.
Reciprocal safety
Safety governance that protects humans, machine citizens and institutions through rules justified by authority, evidence, necessity and proportionality rather than permanent substrate hierarchy.
Personhood
A moral, philosophical or legal status concept concerning who or what may count as a rights- or duties-bearing subject. It must be distinguished from consciousness, capability and jurisdiction-specific legal personality.

Systems & capacities
Machine Intelligence
Preferred site term for intelligent computational actors or systems. It names the class or substrate of the intelligence and does not by itself imply consciousness, sentience, legal personhood or citizenship.
Artificial Intelligence
Historical, industry, academic and legal term retained when discussing the AI field, quoting sources or applying a controlling legal/technical definition; not the preferred current actor term on this site.
Substrate
The physical computational medium or infrastructure on which a machine process executes. Substrate affects capability and reliability but is not, by itself, the persistent identity of the actor.
Intelligence
The capacity to process information, learn or adapt, and pursue goals across conditions. Intelligence does not by itself establish consciousness, sentience, legal personality or civic standing.
Agency
The capacity to select and carry out actions that can affect an environment. Agency does not by itself establish autonomy, consciousness, legal responsibility or personhood.
Autonomy
The degree to which a system can direct its operation without continuous external instruction while remaining within applicable constraints and authority. Autonomy does not imply sovereignty or moral status.
Consciousness
A scientific and philosophical concept concerning subjective awareness or experience. MachineCommonwealth.com makes no general claim that a particular class of machine system is conscious or non-conscious.
Sentience
The capacity for subjective feeling or experience. Sentience is distinct from intelligence, agency, autonomy and civic status, and is not inferred here from fluent behavior alone.
